Purpose
This article will provide guidance on how to view and download notes that have been written within DocNow.

Within DocNow there are multiple places to view and download notes from both the admin portal and the user side.

Admin Portal
Admin Settings
To allow end users to download notes please enabled the Allow Export Notes function in your company settings.
Viewing Notes From the Admin Portal
Administrators can view any note by navigating to the Notes tab of the Dashboard.
Once results have been filtered as desired, use the eye icon to view a further level of detail for a given patient / facility / date of service combination.
In the next screen with more detail you can use the same icon to view any individual notes.
Administrators may also navigate to notes by the following routes:
- User -> Select Provider Name -> Select Census -> View Census -> Access Notes
- Dashboard -> Census -> View Census -> Access Notes
- Dashboard -> Wound Notes -> Access Notes
- Dashboard -> Charge Capture -> View Individual Charges -> Access Notes
- Patients -> Search/Find Patient in Advanced Search -> View Patient Profile -> Patient Notes
Download Notes From the Admin Portal
Download Bulk Notes Per Facility
To download bulk notes per facility you must navigate to the Notes tab of the Dashboard and then filter for a Provider / Facility / Date of Service combination. Once filtered you will have the option to Export Notes.
Note: You must choose both a provider and facility or you you will not have the export option.
Download Bulk Notes Per Patient
To download bulk notes for a patient navigate to their profile, for example by using the Advanced Search option in the Patients tab.
Once in the patient profile navigate to the Notes tab, select all notes, and then use the Export Notes function. The notes will be downloaded in a ZIP file.

Viewing Notes From the Provider Portal
There are many ways to view notes from within the provider portal.
- View My Documents to find and view notes from the Dashboard. Hover over any of the filtered entries to expose a viewing icon to open the note.
- Navigate to a patient profile through the patients either through My Patients or Advanced Search. Within the patient profile choose the Patient Notes tab.
- Use the Icons on any current or past Census to open and view notes.
- Within the note interface use the Patient Details tab to see previous notes for the patient. You can also view notes from Point Click Care if the facility is integrated.
You may also choose whether the note opens up only in the right panel or is opened full screen.
Downloading Notes From the Provider Portal
- Download notes from your Dashboard using the Documents tab. Select any signed notes to have the option to export them.
- Download note by navigating to the patient profile either through My Patients or Advanced Search within the patients tab, then select notes to download.
Note: The company setting to allow export of notes must be enabled to allow downloading from here.

While viewing any note use the PDF icon to download a copy of the note.
