Dragon Medical One | Getting Started Guide

• This guide is tailored to help new users get started with Dragon Medical One (DMO) speech recognition software via native integration to your DocNow EHR and without additional hardware. It provides simple instructions for setup and basic usage.

Introduction

• Dragon Medical One is a cloud-based speech recognition software designed for clinicians. It enables voice-to-text dictation for seamless documentation directly into your DocNow EHR.

What You Can Do:

• • • Dictate text directly into your DN chart note.
    • Use Auto-Texts to insert pre-defined text blocks with simple voice commands.
    • Edit and correct dictated text using voice commands.

Setting Up Dragon within DocNow

• Once your DMO license has been provisioned to your account, your DragonBar will appear in your note interface upon your next login to DocNow. 

• And you're ready to go! From here, DMO AI will learn your voice and accuracy should improve over the coming weeks. 

Basic Dictation

Starting Dictation

1. Place your cursor in the desired field (or open the Dictation Box).
2. Click the microphone icon on the DragonBar to activate it (green = listening).
3. Begin speaking naturally at a moderate pace.
   • Use commands like “period” or “new line” for punctuation and formatting.

Pro Tips

• Pause briefly after clicking on the DragonBar.
• Speak in complete sentences for better recognition.

Templates, Navigation and Editing Commands

Templates: Making Voice Navigation Easier

• If you have the permission to edit templates, you can replace the 3-astericks *** with brackets [] to make the template more Dragon friendly for voice-navigation.

Navigation Using Brackets []

• Use “Next Field” to jump to editable sections marked with brackets []
• Insert placeholder text during template setup for smoother navigation.

Editing Text

• “Select [word/phrase]” to highlight specific text.
• “Scratch That” to delete recent dictation.
• “Correct That” to choose from suggested corrections.

Troubleshooting Tips

• Ensure you use Google Chrome for optimized performance of the DocNow DMO integration
• If the DragonBar doesn’t open or commands fail, try refreshing your browser (CTRL + Shift + R).
• Speak clearly and maintain a consistent volume for best results
