DocNow e-Rx Workflow
- Launching e-Rx: Once you are signed up for E-Rx with DN, you can open the ScriptSure platform in two different ways, (a) Census and (b) Patient Profile
(a) Census - In the census, you will see an Rx icon under "Actions". Click the icon to launch the E-Rx window.
(b) Patient Profile - You can also also access the E-Rx system by clicking the Rx icon in the patients profile
(c) After clicking the icon, if you have not previously registered the patient in ScriptSure you will be prompted to input the patient's address which will pre-populate with information gathered from the patient's profile. Save when finished. Alternatively, you can use the facility's address. Note: This information is for registering the patient; the prescribed medications will be sent to the chosen pharmacy within ScriptSure.
(d) If this is your first time prescribing for a patient you will also be prompted to confirm that the patient consents to download their medication history which is available in ScriptSure. The drug history download, also referred to as the Medical History for Reconciliation (MHR), contains medication history for the selected patient and can be accessed after you receive consent from the patient. It is your responsibility to obtain the patient's consent prior to accessing the MHR.
2. Prescribing: Once the E-Rx window has opened, you can search for a new medication in the search window. From there, you can prescribe the medication or manage a PA. Select where you would like the script sent as well.
Prescribing in Multiple States
If you are a provider who is prescribing in multiple states with different DEA numbers your administrators will need to have set up multiple practices in ScriptSure to assign you different DEA numbers. You can find an article for set up here.
Once you are set up in multiple practices, select the practice name in the top right to see your other options. You must prescribe from the practice that corresponds with your DEA number that is appropriate for the patient who you are prescribing for.
