Overview
A new company and user permission for “Second Signing” has been added to the DocNow system. When this permission is enabled for a provider, after the note has been signed a button shall be displayed at the top of the patient note with the text “Signature Request”. When a provider clicks “Request Signer” a drop down is displayed containing all Provider associated with that provider.

After signing a note while charting in your DocNow EHR, select the 'Second Signer' button

- (The note is submitted and uploaded at time of signing regardless of the Second Signer status as the Second Signer status allows a reviewer to review.)

2. The second signer request can also be canceled in the event a different Second Signer needs to be selected.
Second Signer
1. The provider responsible for second signing must have the user permission on in order to perform this function in the DocNow system and will receive a notification for a second signature request.
2. Clicking the notification will take the user to the Dashboard>>Signature Request screen.
Signature Requests can also be viewed by navigating to the Dashboard>>My Documents>>Signature Request.
Notifications are sent at day of request, 5 days before the 30 day expiration date, and again at the 30 day expiration date if the second signature has not been completed.

3. Clicking the View icon will display the note preview, then click View Note to view the note.
4. Select Sign to complete the second signing of the note.
5. When returning to view the note an indication that a Second Signer has approved the note is displayed.
