Purpose
- This guide explains how to locate and edit previously submitted MIPS responses in DocNow. This process is useful when a MIPS entry was marked incorrectly (e.g., “Performance Not Met”) and needs to be updated to reflect correct documentation.

Considerations
- Only the submitting provider or an associated MA can edit MIPS responses.
- This process applies to previously submitted MIPS entries, especially those marked as “Not Met.”
Instructions / How to
- Search in P360

- Use the P360 interface to search for the MIPS entries you want to update.
- Be sure to filter for “Not Met” to locate the entries that may require correction.

- Copy the Patient ID

- Once you've identified the correct entry, copy the Patient ID shown in the P360 results.

- Search in DocNow

Navigate to the Patient tab in DocNow.

Use the Advanced Search and paste the copied Patient ID into the DN MRN field.

- Access the Patient Profile

- Open the patient’s profile and locate the Date of Service (DOS) encounter associated with the MIPS entry.

- Edit the MIPS Entry

- Click into the encounter to access the MIPS section.
- Update the response to a value that is considered “Performance Met”, if appropriate based on your documentation.
- Save your changes.

Troubleshooting
- Can’t Find Patient in DocNow:
Double-check that the Patient ID was entered correctly in the DN MRN field. - Edit Option Not Available:
Confirm that you are the submitting provider or an associated MA. Only those roles have edit access to MIPS entries. - Entry Still Showing as Not Met:
Ensure that you saved the updated MIPS response and that the encounter date matches the original submission.
Additional Notes
Accurate MIPS reporting depends on proper documentation within the patient note. Always verify that your edits reflect true clinical activity in accordance with CMS guidelines.
