Custom Documents | Patient Profile

Purpose

This article provides information on creating and uploading custom documents that support a limited subset of dot phrases.

DocNow users and administrators. 

Overview

Users have the ability to create and upload custom documents to patient profiles using a similar interface to note writing including access to a subset of available dot phrases. The documents upload as PDFs.

Workflow

To create and upload custom documents: 

1. Navigate to the Patient Documents tab of a patient profile and select the + icon.
   
2. Use a preset templates (configured in Admin -> Templates) or use free text to create the document. Save when finished. 
   
   
   Note: Dropdown Menus, and Dot Phrases are supported in this editor. 
3. Upon saving the document will be created as a PDF in the patient documents. The PDF can be viewed, downloaded, deleted, or edited. Editing will update the PDF. 
   

Considerations

• There is no charge capture interface available for these documents. 
• Documents may always be edited, so it is not recommended to use these in place of clinically significant notes.
