Creating a 'Manual' Patient

Introduction

This article will cover how to create patients in DocNow. This is not applicable if you have patients available via an integration with PointClickCare or Matrix within DocNow. 

Possible uses cases for "Manual" Patients:

• Patient documentation in a facility that is not currently integrated with DocNow
• Patient documentation in a facility that has lost integration due to changes in ownership or technical problems
• Creating patients seen in a clinic setting
• Creating patients seen in a home care or other outpatient setting

Manual Patient Creation

First, after you created a census and are in a census,  you will need to change the "Source" to “DN” using the dropdown menu, and click on "Add Patient" on the right:

And fill out the relevant patient info, but leave "Facility" field blank:

After clicking the Save button, you’ve created a manual patient who is added to the current census.

Manual Patient Clean-up

If after the integration is re-established and you see duplicate patient info, please reach out to DoctorNow support [e-mail] DoctorNow Support to request a patient merge.
