Overview
Facility Point of Contacts (POCs) will receive an email containing a PDF download once a provider has signed a Progress Note. This article covers the workflow for configuring this feature.
Feature Details
If the facility setting for Progress Note Submission type has been configured as Send Via Email the signed progress note will be sent at the time of signing. Additionally a dialog will be displayed to the Provider for adding any additional email recipients. Read more about Facility Settings and Upload Locations.
Additionally, if a practice wishes to avoid receiving individual emails as a result of each provider signing a note please talk to your DocNow Account Manager about enabling the Batch Note feature.
Configuring a Facility to Send Emails After Note Signed
- Login to the Admin Portal>>Facility screen.
- Select the desired facility and click the Edit icon.
- Navigate to the Contact screen to enter the desired email addresses for the Facility POCs.
- Navigate to the Settings screen. Ensure the following have been configured for the facility:
- Progress Note Submission Type: Select Send Via Email. This will ensure that once a note is signed the resulting note is emailed immediately to the facility POCs.
- Email Link Expiration: The duration of time the secure progress note PDF link is valid. Options: 24, 48, and 72 hours.
Receiving Progress Notes Via Email
- Once a progress note is signed the following email will arrive in the facility POCs inbox
- Open the email to access the secure link within.
Note: This link is only valid for the duration specified in the Email Link Expiration setting as mentioned above.
- View the file in your browsers default Download directory. The filename will be in the following format <Patient First Name Initial>_<Patient Last Name>_<DOS MM-DD-YYY> Progress Note.pdf.
