Filter, Sort, Customize, Print, and Export a Census
Use filters to focus on exactly who needs attention in your current round. Adjust columns, sort order, and the default row action to match your rounding style. When the round is complete, download the patient roster as a PDF, export signed notes, or print the current view.
Search and filter
7Search by patient or census name
Type part of a patient name to narrow the roster — results update as you type so a few characters is usually enough. The same search also filters by census name when used in the census list view.
Filter by visit status
Click the Visit Status filter above the roster to show only Seen, Not Seen, or Unknown patients. Use this filter at the end of a round to quickly find any patient whose visit has not been recorded.
Filter by documentation status
Filter the roster to patients whose note, wound, or billing item is in a specific state — No Note, Draft, Signed, Not Submitted, or Submitted. Filter to No Note to work through documentation in sequence, then filter to Not Submitted to close out billing.
Filter by care type
Show only Short-Term Care or Long-Term Care patients within a census. Useful in mixed facilities where different providers focus on different patient populations during the same round.

Filter the census list by facility
In the census list, multi-select the facilities you want to see to hide everything else. Applies to the full list so you only see the rounds relevant to your current context.
Step 1 of 3
The census opens with all patients visible. The Visit Status filter button sits above the roster.
Step 2 of 3
Clicking the filter opens a popover with three options — select Not Seen to surface patients who haven't been visited.
Step 3 of 3
All three options — Seen, Not Seen, Unknown — are visible at once. Filters remain applied when you navigate between patients.
Filter the census list by status
Show only censuses that are Missing Notes, Missing Charges, In Progress, or Done. The fastest way to see which rounds across your facilities still need to close out at end of day.

Filter by date range
Use the date range picker in the census list to restrict results to a specific window rather than paging through the full history. Useful when looking for a past round you need to reference or complete.

4Show or hide columns
Open the Settings panel in the census toolbar to toggle which columns appear in the table — room number, care type, insurance, custom fields, and more. Column choices are saved per user and apply across all censuses and devices.

Multi-select the facilities you want to see in the census list — the filter hides everything else and applies immediately.
Change the default sort order
Set whether the census table opens sorted by Room Number or Last Name. Most providers round by room, but some workflows call for name-first sorting. The preference is saved and applies every time you open a census.

Set the default row action
Configure what clicking a patient row does — open the Note picker, Patient Chart, Wound module, or Billing. The global default applies across all censuses. You can override it per census in the in-census settings for rounds where the workflow is different.
Configure PDF export settings
Set PDF export defaults once — portrait or landscape orientation, table or report format, font size between 8 and 12 points, and which patient and encounter fields appear on the printed page. Every subsequent export uses your layout automatically.
Step 1 of 2
The Settings button in the census toolbar opens preferences — including column visibility.
Step 2 of 2
Toggle which columns appear in the table — choices are saved per user and persist across all censuses and devices.
Export and print
4Download a census PDF report
Export the full patient roster as a formatted PDF using your layout, column choices, and sort order. Useful for handoff reports, sign-out sheets, or keeping a paper record of a completed round.

Export signed notes as a combined PDF
Package all signed notes from a census into one PDF file. Useful when handing off to a covering provider, submitting documentation for review, or archiving a complete round in one file.

Export signed notes as per-patient files
Download one PDF per patient in a ZIP archive. Each file is named by patient so it is easy to sort and route after download. Available from both the census list row and from inside an open census.

Print the census roster
Send the current roster view to your printer or save it as a PDF using the browser's print dialog. What you see is what prints — filtered, sorted, and in your current column layout.
