Overview
- DocNow Admin can edit the Discharge Reason that providers select when removing a patient from a census or a patient practice list (PPL).
- DocNow Admin can enable additional fields for recording Discharge Notes and indicating which Provider is reporting the discharge event.
Instructions For Configuration
Editing Reasons for Discharge
- Within a practice's Company Settings, which are accessed within the Admin Portal by clicking your company name in the top right of the window and then choosing Settings, choose the section named Patient Discharge Configuration.
- From the Patient Discharge Configuration tab you may add, edit, or delete options that providers select when deleting a patient from a census or PPL.
Enabling Discharge Notes & Reporting (Optional)
- Within a practice's Company Settings, which are accessed within the Admin Portal by clicking your company name in the top right of the window and then choosing Settings, choose the section named Patient Discharge Configuration.
- From the Patient Discharge Configuration tab check the box next to Allow Discharge Notes & Reporting. (See screenshot above)
- Once enabled a provider will have optional fields in addition to the reason for discharge to choose which provider reported the discharge from a list of all provider's at the same practice, and to free text any specific notes about the patients discharge.
- Users can view and edit the Reporting Provider, Discharge Notes, and Reason for Discharge within a patient's profile under Admit/Discharge History or Discharge Demographics report.
- Once enabled a provider will have optional fields in addition to the reason for discharge to choose which provider reported the discharge from a list of all provider's at the same practice, and to free text any specific notes about the patients discharge.
