When charting in DocNow the note editor contains several different colors to guide the provider in charting.
- blue - Text highlighted in blue represents data that has been populated by a generic dot phrase. Examples: .dos@dn, .patient@dn,
- yellow - Text highlighted in yellow represents data that has been populated by a dot phrase referencing data from PointClickCare or Matrix Care. Examples: .admitdate@pcc
- red/pink - Text highlighted in red represents data that has been populated from a previous note. Providers will see this color when charting in a Follow-Up template that uses .prevnote dot phrases. Example: .prevnote:vitals@dn
- green/*** - Text highlighted in green represent free text and are always populated with a triple asterisk (***). These fields are required to be completed by the provider before a note can be considered ready for signature or review.
- --- / +/- Dropdowns allow the provider to select from one or more predefined options and are designated by three hyphens (---) or +/- within a note. These fields are required by default. If a user wishes to make these fields optional then the dropdown setting of 'Hide Incomplete' can be enabled within the Admin Portal>>Templates screen. A provider (non-admin) can also configure this using the Phrases category within My Drive if enabled for their DocNow deployment and approved by their companies templating workflow processes.
