Note Signing Guidance
To sign a note please follow the following guidelines:
- It is recommended that each note should contain a Date of Service (DOS) through the use of the .dos@dn dot phrase. Most commonly this is already added into the template previously selected.
- Required fields must be completed before the note can be signed. The most common required fields are as follows and can be observed in the screenshot below:

- --- - Dropdown
Signing the Note
Once the above guidelines have been completed warning messages (found in the note editor header) will no longer displayed and the Sign button will be enabled.
- Click the Sign button
- Review the preview dialog and select Confirm & Sign to complete the signature.
Note: If the facility setting for Progress Note Submission type has been configured as Send Via Email the signed progress note will be sent at the time of signing. Additionally a dialog will be displayed to the Provider for adding any additional email recipients. Selecting Cancel will still result in the email being automatically sent to all Facility Point of Contacts (POCs). Read more about Facility Settings and Upload Locations.
