Edit Co-Signer Enhancement
User types with titles of N.P. and P.A. are automatically given the option to select Co-Signers (Users with MD or DO titles) for their notes at signing. A new enhancement allows these user to change the selected Co-Signer after signing in the event the co-signer is out of office or unavailable.
Provider Portal
- After signing a note with Co-Signing enabled a new button is shown to change the Co-Signer
- Confirm the dialog to continue
- The Co-Signer Provider drop down will now be enabled and allow the Co-Signer to be changed. Signing the note an additional time is not required.
- Select Update Co-Signer to confirm the change
Scheduler Feature Improvements
The following improvements apply to the ambulatory module also known as the scheduler.
- Bug fix to prevent appointments from changing times during daylights savings transitions
- The setting for allowing providers to change appointment statuses moved to Visit Status settings tab
- The Scheduler tab will now default to filtering for the logged in user when accessed from the user side
- When choosing the time for an appointment keyboard input for inputting a time is now supported
- New ability to search for patients by Date of Birth field when creating a new appointment
- Scheduling blocks will now show up as the color of their corresponding appointment types
Not Seen Attestation
A new practice permission has been created to enable Not Seen Attestation and must be enabled by a DocNow Team member to use. See the Not Seen Attestation article for more details. Not Seen Attestation key features:
- Admin configurable Not Seen Reasons and Not Seen Attestation Threshold
- Provider is able to mark a patient as Not Seen and apply a reason to the Patient/DOS
- Charting is restricted if a provider's census is incomplete and outside the Not Seen Attestation Threshold
Wound Care Resolve Wound Improvement
Resolving wounds will now be self evident by a change of text color and style when a wound is actively resolved
- Selecting Resolve Wound will only be available for a wound that has been edited or has not been resolved yet. E.G. When creating a new wound assessment there won't be an option to resolve the wound until a field such as Measurements has been edited.
- When editing fields in a wound that is currently showing Wound Resolved, the button will reset back to Resolve Wound to give the user the ability to resolve the wound again.
- Wound Resolved will continue to show in follow up visits unless a field such as Measurements is edited.
CPT and ICD Carry Forward Practice Permissions
To use this feature the respective practice permissions must be enabled by a DocNow team member:
- Carry Forward CPTs within Specialty
- Carry Forward ICDs within Specialty
When Carry Forward CPTs within Specialty is enabled if the user creates a new note for a patient AND the template selected has a specialty assigned then the CPTs used in the last template of that specialty for the patient shall be carried forward into the newly created note/charge capture.
When Carry Forward ICDs within Specialty is enabled if the user creates a new note for a patient AND the template selected has a specialty assigned then the ICDs used in the last template of that specialty for the patient shall be carried forward into the newly created note/charge capture.
The existing permissions for Carry Forward CPTs and Carry Forward ICDs will still apply to any template that doesn’t have a specialty assigned and can be used in conjunction with the Carry Forward within Specialty permissions. If a non-specialty template is used then the logic shall pull from the last note for that Patient regardless of whether the last note’s template has a specialty assigned or not.
Template Cloning
Administrators may now clone note templates to save time when creating new templates. Simple select the copy icon and then choose a name of the copied template.
My Patients Column Settings
The My Patients tab now has settings options allowing a user to choose whether the Last Seen column shows all providers or only themselves. Settings are accessed via the cog icon on the My Patients tab.
- When Last Seen is selected there will be a column showing the provider initials and date for the last visit a patient had within DocNow
-
When Last Seen - Other Providers is selected there will be a column showing the provider initials and date for the last visit a patient had within DocNow
The following columns are also newly available with this setting:
- Discharge Date
- Inactive Date
- Status
- Facesheet
- Date of Birth
- Sourced
- Gender
- MRN
- Facility Medications
- Location
- ICDs
- Admission Date
- Intake Date
Addendum Request Workflow Improvement
Providers now have the ability to complete addendum requests that internal billers or administrators have created without resubmitting charges. This feature creates increased documentation integrity while avoiding duplicate charges being sent to integrated systems.
Now, after a biller or administrator sets a charge to Addendum Request status, when a provider signs an addendum they will have the option to mark the addendum request as complete.
Once the provider marks the Addendum Request as complete, the biller or administrator who created the request will receive a notification of the completion. The associated charge is not resubmitted through this completion.
Additionally, the Addendum Request will be marked as completed from the biller user type view.
Patient Document Filter Enhancement
Previously the Patient Profile>>Patient Notes screen contained a Date Range filter with pre-populated values which was confusing to users. This enhancement clears the date range and allows users to view all progress notes for a patient and then optionally filter the Date of Service (DOS) to view a subset of notes based on this date range.
PCC Vitals Dot Phrase Blood Glucose, Height and Weight
The dot phrases for .vitals@pcc and .vitals_date@pcc now include Blood Glucose, Height, and Weight.
Submit a Ticket UI Enhancements
The screen for submitting support tickets to DocNow has now been improved to include the following additional fields:
- User - Select the user impacted by the issue. This field defaults to the user currently logged in but can be changed in the event a user wants to submit a ticket on behalf of a different impacted provider/user.
- Date of Service - If applicable, a Date of Service can be added to the ticket. This represents the encounter Date of Service related to the bug or issue.
- URL - If applicable, a URL can be added to this field to further assist DocNow in identifying the exact location of the issue being reported.
- Instance/DB (not editable) - This field represents the environment the ticket is being submitted on to help the DocNow Support team better assist with a resolution.
- Attachments - Users can now upload multiple files to the ticket with a limit of 5MB for the total upload size for all attachments.
PPL Access for Regional/Divisional Admins
When a practice is using PODs and has the Practice Patient List (PPL) enabled, Regional Admins and Divisional Admins now have access to view and manage the PPL.
Bug Fixes
Duplicate Patient Case Sensitivity
When adding a new patient to a DN facility the logic used for checking for duplicate patients is no longer case sensitive. This means that adding 'John Doe' as a patient will be caught as a duplicate against a patient 'JOHN DOE' or 'john doe' with the same gender, and DOB.
