These release notes provide details on the latest update to the DocNow web application.
Version Details
Main DocNow Release Version: 2.8.0
Live Release Date: 08/13/2026 (scheduled)
New Feature Details
Default Co-Sign for Progress Notes
Organizations can now configure the Co-Sign option to be selected automatically when a new progress note is created.
When this setting is enabled, users with the Co-Sign permission will have the Co-Sign checkbox selected by default. Before completing the note, users must either
- Select a co-signer, or
- Clear the Co-Sign checkbox if a co-signer is not required
This helps organizations establish a more consistent process for completing notes that require a co-signature.
Select All by CPT Code
The Charge Capture Admin Dashboard now supports selecting all entries for a specific CPT code.
When a filter is applied, the new Select All option selects only the entries included in the filtered results. This makes it easier to work with entries associated with a specific CPT code without inadvertently selecting unrelated entries.
For example, when filtering for CPT 99203, Select All will select only entries associated with CPT 99203.
This allows admins to quickly select all entries for a specific CPT code instead of selecting each entry individually
Admission Date Added to Billing Information
Billing messages now include the Admission Date when the facility’s Place of Service (POS) is configured as 21 or 61.
- For facilities configured with POS 21 or POS 61, the Admission Date is included when available.
- For facilities configured with any other POS, the Admission Date is not included.
Merge Access Limited to System Admins
The Merge options are now available only to users with the System Admin role.
System Admin users can access the following merge options:
- DN to PCC
- DN to Matrix
- PCC to Matrix
- Matrix to PCC
These options are no longer visible or accessible to users without the System Admin role.
The Merge Duplicate Patient option has also been removed from the application.
Bug Fixes
Improved Template Display in Note Editor
Resolved an issue that caused templates enhanced through the Provider Portal to open in enhanced editing mode when selected in the Note Editor.
Templates now open in the standard Note Editor view immediately, without requiring a page refresh.
Resolved Patient Facility Status Discrepancy
Resolved an issue that caused patients who were still admitted at their facility to be incorrectly displayed as “Moved to Unknown Facility.”
Patient facility status now accurately reflects the patient’s current admission status.
Improved Wound Assessment Report Readability
The font size in the Wound Assessment Report has been increased to improve readability.
Headings, labels, and report content now use larger, consistent font sizes, making the report easier to read when viewed or printed.
Last Seen Date Now Displayed for MA Users
The Last Seen date is now displayed correctly for Medical Assistant users in My Patients.
MA users can now view the correct Last Seen date for patients associated with their providers and facilities, providing accurate visibility into each patient’s most recent visit.
Improved Note Submission Workflow for Medical Assistants
Medical Assistants can now submit notes for provider review when an unresolved phrase is present.
A warning is displayed to indicate that the note contains an unresolved phrase, while still allowing the Medical Assistant to submit the note for review.
Signatures Now Display Correctly on Signed Notes
Signed notes now display the provider signature based on the company’s signature settings.
When signatures are enabled at the company level, the appropriate signature is added to the note when it is signed, regardless of the user’s individual signature setting.
When signatures are enabled at the company level:
- Written + Electronic: The provider’s signature image and an “Electronically Signed by” label are displayed.
- Electronic Only: The “Electronically Signed by” label is displayed without a signature image.
Lab Results Now Display Correctly
The Labs section now displays all available lab results for the selected time period.
Lab results are now correctly displayed for the 1 Month and 4 Weeks filters. The “No lab data available” message is shown only when no lab results are available for the selected period.
Improved Timestamps for Co-Sign and Addendum Activity
Timestamps for co-sign and addendum activity now display complete and accurate time information.
Each timestamp now includes the time and time zone, providing a clear record of when each action occurred and improving the accuracy of the audit trail.
Improved Formatting for Previous Note Content
Content inserted from previous notes now maintains consistent spacing between section headings and their associated content.
A single line break between a heading and its content is preserved, while unnecessary blank lines are prevented from being added when content is inserted repeatedly across notes.
